(Chuck Muth) – I’ve spent the last few months deeply researching the “election integrity” issue, especially as it applies to Nevada, and have been sharing what I’ve learned over the past week.
Make no mistake: I don’t know it all. But I’ve learned enough to know that a lot of the people out there *claiming* they know what they’re talking about on this issue…don’t.
And there are lots of things that need to be done to better secure our elections. However, many of them stand no chance of being reformed – especially ballot harvesting – as long as the Democrats are in charge of the Legislature.
But the one thing we can do under existing laws – and this is non-partisan – is work to clean up our “dirty” voter lists BEFORE the next election. Nothing is more important or doable.
Christian Adams is president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation and has been working on election integrity all across the country for years. He’s credible, responsible and absolutely knowledgeable on this subject.
In a recent column published by the Washington Examiner, Mr. Adams wrote…
“We recently secured a series of wins in Minnesota to remove over 500 duplicate registrations from the voter roll. A duplicate registration happens when a person is registered under variations of his or her name. For example, I could be registered as J. Christian Adams or Christian Adams without being easily found.
“These duplicate registrations matter because they could facilitate someone voting twice, especially in states like Nevada that automatically send every active registered voter a ballot. Nobody could reasonably be in favor of one registrant receiving multiple ballots in the mail.”

And while Nevada’s counties DO regularly clean up their voter files, the process is anything but foolproof.
Make no mistake. Cleaning up the voter files isn’t gonna be easy. The way the laws are written makes it extremely difficult. And the things you have to do to VERIFY and document suspicious voter registrations are time-consuming and challenging.
Federal law requires states to “conduct a general program that makes a reasonable effort to remove the names of ineligible voters from the official lists of eligible voters by reason of (a) the death of the registrant; or (b) a change in the residence of the registrant.”
But a lot of ineligible voters fall through the cracks and remain on the “Active” voter file. And unless/until Nevada sets up an election security office – like what Florida Gov. ron DeSantis proposed last month – which is charged with rooting out potentially fraudulent registrations and voting, we’re gonna have to do it ourselves.
But it has to be done responsibly, thoroughly and lawfully. That’s the objective of the Pigpen Project. And it’s a simple process (in theory)…
- Use various database searches to identify suspected ineligible voters
- Deploy “boots on the ground” to verify the information and document it
- Work with election officials to remove registrants who are ineligible to vote
And if, during the course of our work, we run into a situation that looks like voting fraud may have occurred, we’ll dot all the I’s and cross all the T’s and file an official complaint with the appropriate authorities.
More importantly, we’ll share that information with the public – unlike the 120,000+ supposed pieces of “evidence” of voting fraud the Nevada GOP irresponsibly claimed it had after the 2020 election but never released.
Of course, the planning is easy; the execution is hard.
And to be successful, we’ll need to coordinate and communicate with other groups and individuals working on this issue, both in-state and nationally. Building such a cooperative network of folks working to clean up our elections is a big part of the Pigpen Project.
Trouble is, while there are reputable groups already working on this (so we don’t have to reinvent the wheel), there are also a lot of shysters and grifters out there who can sell ice cubes to Eskimos but drop the ball when it comes to actually doing the work. They’re all hat and no cattle.
And finally, properly training volunteers and field workers is CRITICAL.
The Department of Justice is keeping a close eye on citizens involved in election integrity operations. So it’s important that our “boots on the ground” be respectful in all interactions and don’t intimidate, accuse, or harass any voters.
One “rogue” volunteer can tarnish the entire project and open us up to lawsuits.

Lastly, as the saying goes, you can’t save the world if you can’t pay the rent.
We’re launching this project on a shoestring budget using mostly volunteers. But there’s still expenses – such as hiring a full-time project director, obtaining data lists, setting up a training office and HQ, paying field workers, etc.
The more money we raise, the more we can do. It’s that simple.
