Nevada Taxpayers Foot the Bill for Dirty Voter Rolls – SOS Aguilar Stands in the Way

Jessica Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal recently reported that Democrat Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar said…

“Everything we’re trying to do is really focused on how does it impact the Nevadan? How do we take the politics out of the conversation? How do we work in a collaborative way to get people to come to the table to drive a solution forward?”

I’m assuming he said that with a straight face.

Nevadans are seriously “impacted” by our dirty voter rolls.  Not only do they increase the potential for fraud – which could tilt close races, especially at the local level – but it unnecessarily costs taxpayers a boatload of money by mailing ballots to people who no longer live here.

Our non-partisan Pigpen Project attempted to “collaborate” with the SOS for almost a year before the November election to assist in fixing the problem.  But we had the door slammed in our face by Aguilar every step of the way.

The man clandestinely throttled everything we tried to do with the county clerks and registrars of voters, and went into court to aggressively block our efforts to remove ineligible voters who, according to the post office, filed a notice that they permanently moved from the addresses where they were registered.

We had volunteers go to the addresses of the “moved” voters where the current resident confirmed they no longer lived.  We contacted voters directly by phone and mail who confirmed they had moved.

But time and time again, our reports were rejected – at the direction of the partisan SOS – as being based on “hearsay” evidence and a lack of “personal knowledge.”

In fact, Aguilar actually argued in a court document that it could have been somebody’s CAT that said the voter had moved!

This man does NOT want to clean up the voter rolls in Nevada, no matter what he says.  Actions speak so much louder than words.

But, hey, have no fear.

Among Aguilar’s big election reform proposals for the upcoming session is a bill in which voters not wishing to register with a particular political party will be labeled as “no political party” rather than “non-partisan.”

Yeah, that’s the ticket!  Elections secured!  Good grief.
